Dan was born and raised in Chambersburg, PA. He graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and served as the president of his class. He currently holds a funeral director license in Pennsylvania and Virginia and is also a licensed insurance agent. He sits on the board of Greenvillage Youth League and attends Grand Point Church in Chambersburg. Outside of work, Dan enjoys playing golf and spending time with family and friends.
Bryan was born and raised in a small town in Indiana. He lived in Doylestown, PA, for 30 years and now resides in Carlisle. Bryan has a bachelor's degree in church education from Florida Bible College and a degree in funeral service from Northampton Community College. Bryan chose this profession because of the opportunities to help others through difficult times. He has served as a funeral director for over 27 years.
Bryan and his wife, Kristin, have a daughter, Ellie, and two sons, Alec and Austen. Ellie is married to Jeff, and they have one son named Jackson. Outside of work, Bryan is an active member of Community Christian Fellowship Church in Carlisle, and his relationship with God is very important to him.
As the son of a U.S. Army Security Agency member, David was born in an Army Hospital in Nuremberg, Germany, before his parents returned to the States. He now resides in Carlisle. David has an associate degree in paralegal studies and a bachelor’s degree in communication. He earned his associate degree in mortuary science from Northampton Community College. David has been serving families as a licensed embalmer and funeral director for decades, and he considers it an honor to help care for families in his community during one of their most difficult times.
Outside of work, David likes participating in outdoor activities, attending live music events, and roasting coffee from all over the world. He also enjoys spending time with his cat, Lilly. David is a member of Shiremanstown United Methodist Church.
Alyssa is from Carlisle. She attended Boiling Springs High School and earned an associate degree in funeral service management from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Alyssa’s previous work experience includes serving as a hospice aide. She chose a career in funeral service because she has a desire to help her community. Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys hiking and painting.
Tiana, a Detroit, MI, native and one of nine children in her family, is a 2015 graduate of Wayne State University with a bachelor’s in mortuary science. As a traveling funeral director with ten years of experience, she is licensed in multiple states such as Michigan, Ohio, and, recently, Pennsylvania.
Working in funeral service was a childhood dream of Tiana’s. Then, with the loss of her brother shortly after starting out in her career, she initially questioned her path, but what she did not know was that loss would fuel her to excel in this career. The experience helped shape Tiana into the especially compassionate and empathetic funeral director she is. Tiana has a unique ability to connect with families and understand their needs.
Outside of work, Tiana is an avid reader. She values friends and family above all else and enjoys spending time with loved ones. She hosts many game nights and likes going out to eat.
Originally from Hanover, PA, Jordan moved to Lancaster County in 2010 to attend nursing school. After working primarily in the Alzheimer’s and dementia units, she began caring for residents at the end of their lives, leading her to be called into the funeral service. She believes the transition from the nursing field has prepared her for helping families in their most difficult time of need.
Jordan graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, where she received the Eugene C. Ogrodnik Entrepreneurial Award. She became a licensed insurance agent and advance funeral planner when she saw the importance of having your final wishes taken care of ahead of time. Jordan joined our team in January 2024 after working as a funeral director in Lancaster County since 2017.
In her spare time, Jordan enjoys spending time with family, traveling to places she has never been before, writing songs, and spending time with her dog, Mister.
John is from Donora, PA. He has an associate degree from Allegheny Community College and is a Certified Crematory Operator. John is a U.S. Marine veteran who served with the 1st Bn 8th Marines 2nd Mar Division. He was also a part of the Multinational Peacekeeping Force (Lebanon). John has enjoyed serving our community at the funeral home for over 25 years.
John and his wife have two daughters and two grandchildren. He is a member of Second Presbyterian Church, serving as a Past Deacon, Trustee, and Elder. He also coached the Second Presbyterian softball team for many years. John’s hobbies include camping, fishing, reading, watching Steeler football, playing with his grandson on his days off, and going to his granddaughter’s soccer and basketball games.
Chloe is from Perry County. She has three brothers, three sisters, a 14-year-old turtle named Godzilla, and a calico cat named Astro. Chloe is an avid outdoorswoman, as well as a portrait painter and functional artist. She also loves learning about history and nature. Chloe chose funeral service to help preserve the traditions, memories, and spirits of those in her community who have passed.
Faith is from Carlisle. She earned a degree in history with a concentration in American history from Messiah University and graduated summa cum laude. While at Messiah University, she was President of Minds Matter, a mental health club, and President of Beyond the Ceiling, a club for women going into business. She was given the Billy Michaels Student Leadership Award in 2019. Faith interned at the Army Heritage Center Foundation in Carlisle, where she conducted oral history interviews and wrote stories on soldiers for publication. This background has given Faith a deep appreciation for every individual’s personal history. She is honored to help families memorialize loved ones and tell their life stories in thoughtful, beautiful ways.
Outside of work, Faith enjoys reading nonfiction books, coloring, and volunteering at church. She also loves babysitting her niece and spending time with her family. Faith supports global mental health organizations and is an advocate for mental health support and awareness. She has one cat named Oliver.
Mary Beth is from Mechanicsburg. She has an associate degree in legal studies and a bachelor’s degree in business administration. As a talented artist, Mary Beth has exhibited and sold her paintings in fine art galleries and public spaces across Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York. She created an organization called the Daily Painters of Pennsylvania, which included approximately 50 juried fine artists and had many followers of their online blog. The group also exhibited for five consecutive years in the Pennsylvania State Capitol Rotunda and owned a gallery on Main Street in Mechanicsburg for three years. At the funeral home, Mary Beth enjoys using her artistic background to help families create a memorial to honor loved ones.
In her spare time, Mary Beth enjoys traveling, bird watching, kayaking, and listening to live music. She has participated in Mechanicsburg, Carlisle, and Camp Hill downtown revitalization/economic development organizations and is a past board member of the Downtown Mechanicsburg Partnership. Mary Beth and her husband, Phillip, have four boys, Peter, John, Matt, and Andy, and a black Pomeranian named Simon.
Derek Lener graduated from Bermudian Springs School District in 2020. He was a dedicated member of the FFA program, where he served as Vice President. He also participated in football and track and field. Derek finds tremendous value in serving the community. He has a strong work ethic and also serves as a volunteer firefighter. He is always willing to help out and put others before himself. One of his favorite quotes is, “The most precious thing I have to give is my time.” Outside of work, Derek enjoys spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, going on adventures, and participating in various sports.
Steve is from Carlisle, PA. He has a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education and is a retired certified kinesiotherapist and retired certified athletic trainer. His previous work experience includes serving as Chief, Kinesiotherapy and Director, Domiciliary Care Programs at the Butler Pennsylvania VA Medical Center. He also worked as a Funeral Assistant in Butler. Steve is honored to serve the community in this role at Hoffman and to help provide compassionate care for families by paying attention to the little details.
Steve and his wife, Karen, have two sons, Brian and Adam, and one daughter, Erin. They have seven grandchildren. Community involvement is important to Steve. He is a Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick Parish and has served as President of the Brandy Wine Condominium Association, Treasurer of Saint Vincent DePaul Society, and Treasurer of the VA Credit Union. He has also worked as a certified sports official for over 53 years, officiating football, basketball, and track and field.
