Wilma J. Yearsley

Wilma J. (Jackson) Yearsley, 93, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023, at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.

She was born November 10, 1929, in Cambridge Springs, PA to the late George F. and Alice (Harriger) Sickenberger.

Wilma earned a bachelor’s degree in ministry, music, and missions from Nyack College in Nyack, NY. She acted as the organist and choir director at numerous CMA churches, most recently Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.

Wilma is survived by her two loving sons, Elvin P. (wife Mary) Jackson of Virginia and Mark A. (wife Debbie) Jackson of Florida; one sister, Elinore Dobson of Vermont; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Elvin P. Jackson; her second husband, Fred Yearsley; one daughter, Melody Jackson; one son Robert G. Jackson; and one brother, Floyd Sickenberger.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023 in the Henry Chapel at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle, 770 South Hanover Street Carlisle, PA 17013. Interment will follow in Letort Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Wilma to Chapel Pointe at Carlisle - Benevolent Fund, 770 South Hanover Street Carlisle, PA 17013.
