William R. Kennedy

William R. Kennedy, 82, of Carlisle, died Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Forest Park Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.

Born in Blain, he was the son of the late Russell Kennedy (Mary) and the late Dorothy Kline (Charlie) and the husband of 59 years to Jackie (Wise) Kennedy.

William enjoyed bowling, golfing and hunting.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Cathy Daubenspeck (Richard), of New Jersey; his son: Thomas Kennedy (Shari), of Carlisle; his two grandchildren: Hannah Daubenspeck, Heather Zeiler (Andy); his five great grandchildren: Laney, Sophia, Elyse, Austyn and Ivy as well as his brothers: Larry Kennedy (Pat), of Carlisle, Mike Kennedy (Paula), of Lewistown and Wes Bowermaster, of Carlisle.

William was preceded in death by a grandson: Aaron.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service 1 PM Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, where Pastor Matt Plant will be officiating. A viewing will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorial contributions in William’s name be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
