William Perry

William “Bill” Perry passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024 at UPMC Carlisle, with family by his side.

Born in Olean, NY, he was the son of the late Charles and Ruth (Lawson) Perry and husband of the late Ora-Jean Perry who passed away in 2019.

William worked at Quaker Oats in Shiremanstown as a machine operator for 33 years. In addition to his full-time job, he ran his own lawn business for 15 years.

He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. Golfing was one of his favorite things to do in his free time, not only on his own but playing in many tournaments while employed by Quaker Oats. He also loved to spend time outside on his deck watching “the critters”. William and his late wife very much enjoyed traveling together to plantations, old homes in historic towns, and looking at fall foliage.

His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Survivors include his daughter: Christine Barrick (Thomas), his son: Jason Perry; his grandchildren: Bethany Linn (Andy), Clara-Jean Watson (Jason), Conner Perry, Donald Barrick (Paige), Katrina Perry; his great-grandchildren: Logan, Rider, Jasey, Marley-Jean, Oliver, and Asher as well as his brother Rodney Perry (Rosie).

William was preceded in death by his brothers Bob, David, and PJ.

There will be a private memorial at a later date.
