William L. Adams, 83, of Carlisle, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg.
He was born January 19, 1935 in Shermansdale to the late Milton M. Adams and Mary V. (Brownawell) Adams Stump.
Bill honorably served his country in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis on the USS Bigelow and the USS Valley Forge. He was a talented woodworker, an active member of Letort United Methodist Church and a member of VFW Post 477, Carlisle. In 1970 Bill opened Adam’s Upholstery and ran the business for over 25 years until he retired.
He is survived by a sister, Anna Rice of Elliottsburg; a granddaughter, Lori McGill of Boiling Springs and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Dorotha (Horner) Adams.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA with Rev. Dr. Paul L. Herring officiating. Burial will follow in Letort Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
