William H. Morrow, 87, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born August 4, 1925 in Carlisle, he was a son of the late Harvey McClay and Elizabeth Annie Freeman Morrow.
He worked for the Carlisle Shoe Factory and retired from the Naval Supply Depot, Mechanicsburg. He was a member of Allison United Methodist Church, Carlisle where he ran the sound system. William was a member of the Union Fire Company for thirty-two years. He was a little league coach and teener league coach; he volunteered for Project SHARE and the Salvation Army. He enjoyed golf and bowling. He was a US Army veteran who served in the 82nd Airborne, 325 Glider Infantry during WWII.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Eunice Morrow of Carlisle; four children: William E. Morrow, Susan K. Morrow, Robert L. Morrow, and Cathy A. Morrow all of Carlisle; one brother, Herbert Morrow of Carlisle; one sister, Elizabeth Cauffman of Arlington, TX; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: James, George, and Charles Morrow, Rosie Barrick, Viola Stoops, and Ester Morrow.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 11, 2013 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Dr. Paul Herring officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the funeral home.
