Wesley S. "Wes" Kidd Jr.

Wesley S. “Wes” Kidd Jr., 78, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle.
He was born January 10, 1940 on the Carlisle Barracks to the late Wesley Sr. and Grace E. (Myers) Kidd.
Wes was a 1958 graduate of Carlisle High School. He was a retired 911 Dispatcher for Cumberland County. Wes was a member of the former Empire Friendship Fire Co. and Carlisle Fire and Rescue for 59 years. During his time at the fire company Wes served as Foreman, Vice President, President and sat on the Board of Directors. Wes was a lifetime member of the Carlisle Regional Special Police, a member of the White Circle Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles #1299, a former member of Carlisle Elks Lodge #578 and the NASCAR Club of Carlisle.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Kidd of Carlisle; two children, Kevin Kidd of California and Kelli Kidd of Texas; one brother, Charles Kidd of Washington; two sisters, Barbara Giordano of Tennessee and Dorothy Hawker of Ohio; and two grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Wes was preceded in death by his sister Norma Schiessl; his brother, Robert Kidd; and his son, Keith Kidd.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013 with Rev. William E. Pipp officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
