Wendy S. Spicer

   Wendy S. Spicer, age 59, of Carlisle, PA, passed away at home on Monday, September 25, 2023. She was born July 30, 1964, in Washington, PA to the late Peter Paul and Marian Bernice (Rocco) Mazutis.

    Wendy worked as Early Intervention & Infant Development Specialist, Supervisor and Clinical Coordinator for Pinnacle Health and UPMC. She made an immense impact on families throughout the Harrisburg area, where she was affectionately known as "Miss Wendy." In addition to her devotion to the community, Wendy was a loyal friend, great listener, helpful neighbor and wonderful wife.

    She loved nothing more than traveling and spending time with her family — who accompanied her on many adventures to Europe, Bermuda (where she and her husband, Kevin, wed), Alaska, many beaches and mountains throughout California, North Carolina and Wildwood, N.J. Taking care of animals (especially cats, stray cats, and dogs), visiting flower farms, listening to live music, eating/cooking Eastern European food and laughing at funny TV shows like The Office were some of her favorite pastimes.

    Wendy is survived by her husband of 35 years, Kevin J. Spicer; daughter Erika L. Mason and her husband Grant of Asheville, NC; sister Amy J. Mazutis of Carlisle, PA — as well as many beloved brothers- and sisters-in-laws (Kim and Chris Filardi, Kristie and Joe Wuycheck) and father-in-law Otis Spicer. She was a wonderful aunt to many nieces and nephews.

     A memorial service will be held at 5:30PM on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd, Carlisle, PA 17013.
