Wayne E. Swarner

Wayne E. Swarner, 83, of Carlisle, PA passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at UPMC West Shore. He was the husband of the late Betty J. (Worley) Swarner. Wayne was born in Carlisle on March 19, 1938, to the late John and Anna (Hoover) Swarner.
Wayne previously owned and operated Swarner’s Auto Sales and Service in Gardners. He was a member of the Carlisle Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and model trains.
He is survived by his children Dave S. Swarner and his wife Tammy of Carlisle, Cindy A. Young and her husband Martin of Carlisle and Phil L. Swarner and his wife Melissa of Auburn; grandchildren Chelsea Sanford-Smith, Ryan Swarner, and his wife Olivia, Will Miller and Ashton Swarner; brothers Marlin Swarner of Plainfield and Harold Swarner of Carlisle; sisters Joyce Pittenger and her husband Ed of Shippensburg and Loretta Runk of Carlisle. In addition to his late wife and parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his son Tim A. Swarner and brother Bob Swarner.
A funeral service will begin at 4:00PM on Monday, October 4, 2021, at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013. Viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00PM until service time.
