Wayne R. Boyd

Wayne R. Boyd age 97, of Carlisle, PA., passed away at his home on Friday November 29, 2024. 

Wayne was born in Carlisle, PA on Thursday October 13, 1927, to the late Raymond W. and Martha (Orris) Boyd. 

Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corp and was a pilot during WWII. Wayne loved to fly, loved to race his dodge model stock car #59 and was an avid cat lover. He owned and operated Boyd’s Auto Part Store in Mt. Holly for about 30 years. He also wrote a book titled “No Road Back”. 

He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. 

He was preceded in death by two wives and by his seven siblings: Dale Frederick Boyd, Dallas “Leroy” Boyd, Myles “Bill” Boyd, Guy “Jim” Boyd, Ellsworth Boyd, Arlene “Peg” Boyd and Marlin “Tom Boyd.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00PM on Friday December 13, 2024, at Hoffman Funeral and Cremation 2020 W. Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013. A viewing will be held from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Pastor Richard Reese will be officiating. Burial with honors will follow in Westminster Cemetery.
