Wahneta Marie Wingert

Wahneta M. Wingert, age 87, of Carlisle, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Cumberland Crossings, Carlisle.
She was born May 17, 1930 in Everett, PA to the late Alfred Samuel and Ada Pearl (Redinger) Zimmerman.
Wahneta was a member of: Middlesex United Methodist Church, Penn Dixie Square Dance Campers; and the Whirl-A-Way Square Dance Club, Carlisle. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, camping, gardening, hosting family reunions, and the time she spent with her loving family.
She is survived by: her husband of 63 years, Marvin R. Wingert of Carlisle; son, Ronald L. (wife Tammy) Wingert of Carlisle; seven grandchildren, Ian M. Jordan, Nicole M. Jordan, Cortney L. Reed, Miranda Johnson, Shannon M. Wingert, Shannon M. Johnson and Kasey E. Wiser; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Wahneta was preceded in death by: her daughter, Connie Sue Jordan; grandson, Jesse L. Wingert; brothers, Elvin M., Boise A. and Guy L. Zimmerman; and sisters, Thelma Smith and Freda M. Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Jan F. Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services.
