Virginia C. Scheff, 89, of Carlisle, died Sunday, June 3, 2012, in Thornwald Home, Carlisle
Born Nov. 26, 1922, in Palmyra, N.J., the daughter of the late Arthur F. and Eva R. LeVan Carr and the widow of Lawrence Scheff.
Mrs. Scheff was the former owner of Country Gas Service, Maple Shade, N.J., with her husband. She was later a bookkeeper for Parkers Flower Shop, Palmyra, N.J.. Virginia was a member of Central Baptist Church, Palmyra, N.J.
Surviving are two daughters, Virginia Shinn and her husband Paul, The Villages, Fla., and Linda Lugo and her husband Al, of Carlisle; five grandchildren, David Shinn and his wife Ann, of Connecticut, Holly Maas and her husband Martin, of New York, Melanie Lugo and her fiancé James Rasmussen, of Carlisle, Kristin Lugo of Carlisle and Cyndi Micale and her husband Michael, of Massachusetts and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Scheff and her brother, Joseph Carr.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2012, at Arlington Cemetery, 1620 Cove Road, Pennsauken, NJ 08110 with Pastor Wesley Allen officiating.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home and Crematory, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle is handling the arrangements.
