Virginia Lee "Ginni" Lux, age 66, of Carlisle, PA, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 19, 2016, at Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, PA.
She was born in Lafayette, IN, on September 13, 1949, to the late William Frederick and Betty Jean Burkhalter Lux.
Virginia was a 1967 graduate of Twin Lakes High School in Monticello, IN. She then attended Purdue University and graduated from Ivy Tech. She previously had worked as a lab tech in Lafayette, IN and worked as an accountant in Manchester, CT, before retiring in 2014 and moving to Carlisle. Since moving to Carlisle, she was an active volunteer at the Cumberland County Historical Museum, Project S.H.A.R.E and the Carlisle Parks & Recreation after school program. She was a member of Wesleyan Church of the Cross where she led a ladies Bible study group.
She is survived by three sisters, Jocilyn Lux (husband Carl) Erikson, Janis Lux and Jeanne Lux (husband Jim) Franks; and a brother, William (wife Donna) Lux.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Wesleyan Church of the Cross, 430 B Street, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Daniel R. Mikesell officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lafayette, IN. There will be a viewing at the church on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Project S.H.A.R.E., 5 N. Orange St., Suite 4, Carlisle, PA 17013 or to Wesleyan Church of the Cross.
