Virginia C. Bishop

Virginia C. Bishop, age 93, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
She was born on October 1, 1921 in Shippensburg, PA to the late Walter and Rhea Nehf Coover and was the widow of the late John E. Bishop (Col. Ret.). John and Virginia had been married for 63 years.
Virginia was a graduate of Shippensburg High School and a member of the Carlisle First Church of God. She was a self-employed beautician. Virginia was an avid bridge player and loved to read inspirational books. In her younger days, she and her husband John enjoyed square dancing. Most of all, she was a devoted wife.
Virginia is survived by several close nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of God Home Chapel, 801 N. Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Bradley V. Moore officiating. There will be a viewing at the chapel Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. A procession will be leaving from Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 N. Hanover Street, Carlisle at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
