Violet I. Otto, 93, of Carlisle, died Monday, November 10, 2014 at the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
She was born August 27, 1921 in Adams County, Huntington Township, a daughter of the late Ellsworth and Ella Heller Miller and the widow of Grove G. Otto.
She worked at AMP for many years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Violet frequently helped with the Christmas Bazaar. She loved to cook and also make others laugh. She enjoyed her family and they brought her great joy. Violet was fiercely independent especially after losing her husband so early in life. Violet was very prayerful.
Surviving are one brother, Ellsworth L. Miller of Carlisle; nieces, Kathy Patterson of Carlisle, Jacquie Withum of Carlisle, Joan Garman of York Co., Ellen Pua, and Nancey Meston, both of CO, and Kathy Otto Inglis of FL; nephew, John Miller of Carlisle and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Miller, sister, Gladys DeGlas and half-sister, Hilda Richwine.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Church of God Home Chapel. Burial will be privately held at Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at the Church of God Home.
