Violet E. Hockenberry

Violet E. Hockenberry, age 85, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Claremont Nursing & Rehab Center.
She was born in Shippensburg on March 7, 1930 to the late Myron and Olive Doyle Naugle and was the widow of the late Kenneth L. Hockenberry, Sr., who passed on December 10, 2007.
Violet was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and family. She was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Violet liked to travel to the Atlantic City, NJ area.
She is survived by three sons, Steven (and wife Lori) Hockenberry of Newville, William (and wife Lori) Hockenberry of Middletown and Michael (and wife Janet) Ordway of NC; two daughters, Marcia (and husband Charles) Bitner of Carlisle and Winifred Margolis of FL; sisters, Jean and Patricia; nineteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Hockenberry, Jr. and brothers, Richard Naugle and Sonny Naugle.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Hoffman Funeral Home, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle is handling the arrangements.
