Victor M. (Bud) Fisher, 83, of Newville passed away at home on Feb. 17, 2012.
He was born March 14, 1928, in Hershey to the late Luther O. and Martha (Rhoads) Fisher.
He retired from Frog Switch and Manufacturing as a welder with 38 years of service. He was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army and served 13 months in Japan with the 3054 Ordnance Service Co. He was a life member of VFW Post 6070, Newville, a social member of VFW Post 6168, Shippensburg, and member of the American Legion Post 223, Shippensburg. He was a member of the First Church of God, Newville.
He is survived by his wife, Helen J. (Heller) Fisher; three daughters, Donna R. Fisher of Newville, Kathy J. Weber and Kimberly L. Fisher, both of Carlisle; one sister, Virginia Dunkleburger of Newville; one half brother, Ray Snyder, of Newville; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, David V. Fisher; one sister, Martha Thrush; and three brothers, Glen, Paul, and Lewis Fisher.
There will be no viewing. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, 1921 Ritner Highway, Carlisle with military honors conducted by Cumberland County Honor Guard.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover St., Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
