Verlo L. “Cowboy” Hocks, 64, of Boiling Springs, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD.
He was born August 3, 1955 in Walsenburg, CO to the late Vernon Hocks and Lori (Vigil) Vicklund.
Verlo was a heavy equipment operator for 40 plus years, a United States Marine Corp Veteran, having served from 1973 to 1977. He owned Cowboy’s Greenwood Tavern in Delaware and was an officer in the Milford Moose Lodge #2316. He was a member in various VFW’s and American Legion’s, loved riding his Harley-Davidson, but most of all loved having a good time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Angelia (Kyle) Hardman of Boiling Springs, son, Bruce Hocks of Carlisle, Grandchildren - Wesley R. Hocks, Weston Hardman, Cayde Hocks, Levi Hardman and another grandchild due to arrive February of next year. Three Sisters - Vickie (Ron) Hill of Nampa, ID, Valerie (Michael) Schenk of Palm Desert, CA and Vernalee Hocks of Salt Lake City, UT. He is also survived by dearly loved close friends who he considered family that helped care for him - Bif Coyle, Annie and Randy Mountz.
Verlo is preceded in death by his eldest son, Wesley C. Hocks and his brother, VL Hocks.
Friends are invited to a memorial service on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 11am at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle PA 17013.
