Vergean S. "Jean" Wennell

Vergean S. “Jean” Wennell, age 96, of Carlisle, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
She was born May 30, 1921 in Mechanicsburg to the late Charles and Elsie (Darr) Weiser, and was the widower of the late Bruce Wennell, with whom she was adoringly married for over 62 years.
She was an active member of St. Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church, in New Kingstown.
She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by 3 sisters and 6 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory - 2020 W. Trindle Rd. Carlisle, with Rev. Matthew Best officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, in Boiling Springs. There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
