Tyler Scott Thorne, 23, of Carlisle, died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at his home.
Born April14, 1989 in Carlisle, he was a son of Aaron Thorne and Pamela Lynn Dixon.
He was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School and attended Shippensburg University. Until recently, he worked for Giant Food as a selector. Tyler enjoyed fishing and hiking with his friend, Gabe. He also played football at Boiling Springs.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his sister, Kaitlynn Fry; his step-father, Ken Fry; his grandparents, Allen and Shirley Dixon; and step grandparents, Ken and Shirley Fry, all of Carlisle. Also his aunts and uncles: Jeffrey Allen Dixon (and wife, Shannon Lee), Deborah Wise of Shippensburg, Nicole Henry of Carlisle, Jesse Thorne of Carlisle and Lester Thorne of Mt. Holly Springs. Also surviving are numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Carol Parr officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2013 and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
