Tommie L. Wolfe, age 87, of Carlisle, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at her home.
She was born March 13, 1930 in Dallas, TX to the late Jessie and Rilla (Brown) Wilkinson.
Tommie was a very active member of the Carlisle Fraternal Order of the Eagles # 1299 Ladies Auxiliary. She was enthusiastically involved in most fund raisers particularly for the Kidney Fund and thoroughly enjoyed the Easter Egg Hunt each year. She held various offices for the Carlisle Order including: Madam Conductor 5x between 1983 and 2003, Madam Chaplin, 1982 and 1996, Madam Vice President 1984 and 1997, Madam President 1985 and 1998, Trustee for 10 various years, Auxiliary Mother 1994, 2011, 2013, a member of the Carlisle #1299 Ladies Auxiliary Ritual Team from its inception, a member of the Carlisle #1299 Joint Memorial Team. She also served as Pennsylvania Madam State President 2000 - 2001 and served every office within the PA State FOE Auxiliary Chairs. In 2013 she was honored by being nominated and elected into the Pennsylvania FOE State Hall of Fame. She contributed to her community and state through the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
She is survived by: her husband of 63 years, Kenneth E. Wolfe, Sr. of Carlisle; two sons, Kenneth E. Jr. (wife Theresa) Wolfe of Carlisle and Richard P. (wife Sandy) Wolfe of Bear, DE; one daughter, Jamie L. Wilson of Carlisle; one sister, Mary Lebo of Carlisle; two brothers, Doyle (wife Gayle) Wilkinson of Midlothian, TX and Rev. J.W. (wife Melba) Wilkinson of Walla Walla, WA; two nephews, Randy and Chuck Wilkinson; one niece, Jennifer (husband Adrian) Harden of Hershey; five grandchildren, Sara (husband Alex) Goodfellow of Fort Myers, FL, Ashley (husband Tim) Cole of Hedgesville, WV, Alex Wolfe of Carlisle, David Wolfe of Frankford, DE and Andrew Wolfe of Frankford, DE; two great-grandchildren, Aden Cole and Amanda (husband John) Bergeron; and two great-great-grandchildren, Savanna and J.R. Bergeron. In addition to her parents, Tommie was preceded in death by a grandson, Jake Zygmunt and a brother-in-law, James Lebo.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Matthew D. Plant officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the services.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Angels on Call out of Shippensburg for the tremendous assistance and loving care they have provided our mother over the last year. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Homeland Hospice for the dedicated assistance and medical care they provided to the family and mom over the last several weeks. Their help was invaluable.
