Thomas F. Lebo

Thomas Lebo, of Carlisle, passed away Tuesday, October 22 in Thornwald Home, Carlisle. Born in Carlisle on July 3, 1937, he was the son of the late Clarence S. and Myrtle A. (Gleim) Lebo. He was the loving husband of the late Velva (Barrick) Lebo.

 Thomas was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School, later earning both a Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degree in Education from Shippensburg University. He taught 6th grade and later middle school science in various Carlisle area public schools, later retiring from Carlisle Middle School after teaching for 34 years.

 Thomas enjoyed singing, hunting, fishing and farming. He especially enjoyed spending time with is family and taking care of his animals. 

 Thomas is survived by sons Thomas F. Lebo, Jr. (wife Rebecca) of Carlisle and Mark A. Lebo (wife Jamie) of Harrisburg. A sister Diane (husband Ron) Altland also survives him along with grandchildren Griffin and Savannah. In addition to his wife and parents, Thomas was predeceased by siblings Grace Winters, Oren Lebo, Evelyn Prosser, Gladys Otto, Glenn Lebo, Janet McCoy, Kenneth Lebo, and L. Robert Lebo.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6 at Hoffman Funeral and Cremation, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle with the Rev. Richard Reese officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Thomas’s memory to the American Stroke Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
