Thomas E. Frederick

Thomas E. Frederick passed away on November 27, 2024, after battling pancreatic cancer. Tom was born on September 21, 1939, to Theodore and Kathryn. In 1957, after less than a stellar public-school career, and at the joy of his parents, Tom graduated from Carlisle High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force, from which he was honorably discharged in 1960. Following his service, Tom received his B.A. from Shippensburg State College.

Tom was a partner with Pete (Harry) Fair for over twenty years, operating Frederick and Fair Automotive in Carlisle. Tom also owned and operated Noble Car Wash, Carlisle, spent ten years as a realtor with Wolfe & Co., and was later a tipstaff at the Cumberland County Courthouse. Tom was a 40-year member of the Carlisle Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Foundation member. He was a lifelong member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carlisle.

Tom is survived by his much-loved wife and best friend of 53 years, Monica, his brother, Theodore III (Barbara), nephews, Theodore IV (a/k/a Cory) and Matthew (Gabriel), nieces, Kathryn (Mike) and Eve, his special friend, Dan Corkle (Jolien) and Dan’s sons, Brooks and Hudson, and his loving extended family, Christina Howard (Michael), Christopher Houston (Barbara), and Stephen Houston (Nancy).

A funeral service will be held at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carlisle, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, preceded by visitation in the church’s Atrium from 1-2 p.m.
