Theresa “Terry” A. Gearhart, 66, of Carlisle, PA, entered into eternal rest, at her home on Friday, September 15, 2023.
Terry was born on January 7, 1957, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late Carl Martin and Helen College.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Martin.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Jesse Gearhart, of Carlisle, a veteran who served in Vietnam, her son Michael Lanser and fiancé, Heather Lander, her daughter and son-in-law, Chrissy and Dan Malesic; two beautiful grandchildren whom she adored tremendously, Jasmyn Lanser and Declan Malesic along with two great grandchildren, Peyton and Grayson Smith; 3 surviving brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Tina Martin, John and Sue Martin and David and Angie Martin. Also surviving is her sister Elisabeth “Betsy” Martin along with her brother and sister-in law, Jim and Sun Hwa Gearheart of Merritt Island, FL and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Terry was passionate and loved her work in the healthcare field as an Anesthesia Technician. She worked for 25 years at Harrisburg Hospital and then worked at Carlisle Hospital for several years to be closer to home until she was no longer able to work after being diagnosed with lung cancer. She fought long and hard against this disease for 7 years; she was a true warrior and inspiration to so many.
Terry loved her family fiercely and unconditionally. She was selfless and always put others first. She loved dancing, photography, gardening, working outside and mostly spending time with her family, children, and grandchildren. She also loved watching her hummingbirds come for their nectar on her porch. Terry loved the Pennsylvania Farm show and rodeo. She enjoyed going to fairs and carnivals and going to see her dear friend, Chris Woodward and his band Shindiggin, play at events.
