Thelma Elizabeth Foltz Calaman, 85, of Carlisle, formerly of Boiling Springs, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born June 28, 1925 in Newburg, she was a daughter of the late Earl F. and Minerva E. Davis Foltz and the widow of Robert L. Calaman, Sr.
She retired from Carlisle Tire and Wheel after 25 years of service. Thelma was a member of Bethany Evangelical Church, Carlisle. She and her husband were co founders of the Cumberland Valley Hoedowners Band through 1950’s and 60’s.
Surviving are one son, Art Calaman of Boiling Springs, two daughters, Wendy Fitting (and her husband, Glenn) of Carlisle and Cathy Junk (and her husband, John) of Carlisle one brother, Ralph Foltz of Shippensburg, six grandchildren, Jamie Calaman Kelly, Matthew Junk, Michael Junk, Kelly Junk, Dylan Yeingst and Logan Yeingst and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Edgar, Ebert and Cloyd Foltz and one sister, Pearl Lose.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle. Burial will be in Letort Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
