Terry L. Calaman, 70 of Carlisle, died Sunday May 4, 2014 in his home with his wife and family at his side.
Terry was born August 4, 1943 in Carlisle, the son of the late Lewis C. and Evelyn M. (Baer) Calaman.
Terry was an avid hunter, loved to listen to music and play his bass guitar. He was a member of many local bands over a number of years, but most prominently he played bass in the "New Breed" in the early 70's. The band had a large following; played at many of the local establishments and went on to record an album.
He served in the US Navy and was stationed at the Naval Base in Norfolk, VA. He was attached to the USS Randolph aircraft carrier that was part of the Cuban Missle Crisis and received honorable discharge.
He retired from Lear (formerly C.H. Maslands) in 1995 after 17 years in the R&D Dept.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Kathleen (Evans) Calaman of Carlisle, two sons, Scott Calaman, presently living/working in UAE and Keith Calaman of Centerville; two grandsons; Jesse and Cody Calaman and three great-grandchildren, Emma, Christian and Jude Calaman. A sister, Brenda Barker and her husband MA of North Carolina and two nephews, Nathan and Seth.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, 1921 Ritner Highway, Carlisle with Rev. William C. Forrey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110
