Terry Lee Hench, 73, of Carlisle, died, due to an accident, Saturday, December 17, 2011 at M. S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born July 19, 1938 in Carlisle, he was a son of the late Luther Elwood and Theetta Calaman Hench.
He served in the National Guard’s 104th Recon Squadron for six years. Terry worked masonry, brick and block, and carpentry. He built homes with his dad, Elwood Hench for many years. Also, he worked his masonry trade with the late Jim Delancy, the former Raymond Shearer Contractors and Lynn Myers Construction. Terry worked 15 years in the maintenance department of the West Perry School while living in Shermans Dale, Perry County. After moving back to Carlisle he worked at Applied Industrial Technologies on Claremont Road as a maintenance/custodian until his retirement in 2003.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Beverly Hench of Carlisle; two sons, Chris J. Hench (and wife, Theodora Kokos) of Mechanicsburg and Chad D. Hench (special needs son living at home); two grandchildren, Cristin Hench and Nicholas Hench, both of Mechanicsburg and his beloved Chihuahua, Rosea.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Rev. Ed Roman officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Chapel Pointe Benevolent Fund, 770 South Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA 17013.
