Tammy Tyson Brewer

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our cherished Tamara Lynn Tyson on January 12, 2025. Deeply mourned by James, Janet and Trent Tyson and her daughter, Rachel.

Tammy became a quadriplegic in 1984.

Tammy’s love for playing the clarinet, doing math problems, computers, raising her daughter and music brought joy to everyone they met. Tammy received multiple honors for playing the clarinet in All Eastern, All State, Regional and District Festivals.

She graduated from Big Spring High School in 1979 and attended Millersville and Shippensburg Universities and graduated from Shippensburg with a B.S. in Computer Science in 1990. She worked for Rite Aid Corporation until motherhood.

Tammy’s longevity was enhanced by her caregivers. She had wonderful care by her caregivers throughout her life.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service 11:00 am Monday, January 20, 2025 at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 647 Forge Road, Carlisle, where Rev. Joseph Kugle will be officiating. The family will receive guests after 10:00 am prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Springville Cemetery, Boiling Springs.
