Suzanne F. (Nicholl) Ferguson

Suzanne F. (Nicholl) Ferguson, age 73, of Carlisle, died of brain cancer on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at her home with her loving and caring family by her side.
She was born in Philadelphia on December 7, 1946 to the late Peter F. and Margaret C. (Hetherington) Nicholl and was the wife of Donald R. Ferguson, who died April 16, 2008.
Suzanne had retired from the Ahold Corporation in Carlisle. She was a devout member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, and a devoted adorer of the Adoration Chapel. Previously she was a volunteer at St. Patrick Catholic School and in recent years she volunteered with her grandchildren at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Mechanicsburg. She loved attending all her grandchildren’s events, with a special love for their basketball games. She was an avid weather watcher, and she loved to travel and treat her family to dinner. She loved her cats, Sparky and Rudy.
She is survived by a daughter, Leah M. Ferguson (husband David Bilodeau) and their three children, Saoirse, Quinlan, and Cian, all of Mechanicsburg; a son, Paul M. (wife Sarah) Ferguson of Jefferson, WI; four siblings, Michael J. Nicholl (wife Michelle) of Hanover, PA, Peter T. Nicholl (wife Teresa) of Sykesville, MD, Mary E. McGettigan (husband Timothy) of Gettysburg, PA, and Timothy H. Nicholl (wife Jeanne) of Pikesville, MD, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Dr. Carlisle, PA. Celebrant will be the Rev. Donald H. Bender. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd. Carlisle, PA, and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of Mass. Private interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery with her beloved husband Donald.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Suzanne and Donald’s names be made to the St. Patrick’s Third Century Fund, 152 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
