Susie M. Stringfellow, 90, of Conway, SC, formerly of Carlisle, died Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Davenport, IA.
Born September 22, 1921 in Trevorton, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Lillie Morgan Troutman and the widow of Clair Stringfellow.
She worked as a secretary for Dickinson College, Carlisle until she retired. She was a member of the Carlisle First Church of God for 60 years and taught Nursery and Sunday School there for 47 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Sigman (and husband, Joel) of Conway, SC and Patricia Keefer (and husband, Wayne) of Davenport, IA; one son, Richard Stringfellow (and wife, Deborah) of Garner, NC; one daughter-in-law, Fredrica Stringfellow of Selinsgrove; one brother, Edward Troutman (and wife, Eva) of LaVista, NE; two sisters, Mary Kane of Auburn, NY and Dorothy Kiger of Mt. Morris, PA; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Stringfellow; three brothers, Robert, Thomas and Ernest Troutman; and one sister, Phillis Baskin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, with Rev. D. Alan Mathna officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2012 and from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
