Susan Keim Eichelberger, born May 12, 1943, passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family on November 2nd, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Karol (Roewer) Keim and her sister Judy. She is survived by her brother, Terry and his wife, Agnes, and countless nieces and nephews that meant the world to her.
Susan had just celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary in April with her husband and soulmate, Marty. Very important to Susan were her good friends and her immediate loving family and she cherished nothing more than being a mother and grandmother (Gammy). Susan will live forever through her daughter, Katie and her husband Allen, and her son Dan, and his wife Rebecca, and most importantly through the grandchildren that she nurtured and adored, Davis and Grady Clarke and Benjamin Eichelberger. Ever humble and selfless, Susan endured to perpetuate family stories for the next generations. She was a voracious reader, a lover of birds and flowers, and would play bridge at the drop of the hat. She was a proud graduate of Abington Friends School and Penn State University.
After raising children, she set about serving the community and being the guiding force in helping her husband build the LeTort Trust family business. She so looked forward to relaxing in Hilton head, SC. Some of Susan and Marty's best afternoons were spent driving through the countryside with the top down discovering new places (just kind of smelling the flowers).
Susan will be remembered by all for her unwavering sense of humor. In lieu of flowers, she would have asked that any donation made to the Clinton Foundation be made on a purely quid pro quo basis. Or, better yet, donations could be made to the American Cancer Society, the Audubon Society or to an organization of your choice.
The family would also like to extend a sincere thank you to the compassionate team at West Shore Pinnacle Hospital for the loving care they provided.
Susan's life will be celebrated with family and friends at a later date.
