Steven Ruben Lempke, 54, of Boiling Springs passed away on Monday, November 27 at his home after a year of battling multiple myeloma.
Steve was born August 28, 1963 in LaPorte, Indiana to the late Owen Ruben and Elizabeth Ann “Betty” (Lange) Lempke. On June 7, 1986 he married Carol Lynn Truster, who survives. Also surviving are daughters Sarah (Ryan) O’Hare of Peekskill, NY, and Laura of Indianapolis, IN; and one sister Lisa (Taylor) Jackson of Mill Creek, IN.
Steve grew up on a farm in northern Indiana and was a ten-year 4H member. He graduated from Purdue University in 1986 where he was a member of Farmhouse Fraternity. Steve was a faithful, active member in several churches throughout his life. His career in the customer service and marketing fields took him throughout the country, and he spent the past five years with SymphonyEYC focusing on product development. He especially valued the opportunity to serve as a mentor to younger employees. Steve loved restoring antique furniture, home renovation, traveling, entertaining friends, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family and career, his friendship and humor, and his infectious laugh.
A Service of Witness of the Resurrection will be held at Second Presbyterian Church, 528 Garland Dr., Carlisle, PA on Saturday, December 9 at 11am, followed by lunch. Burial will be in Rush County, IN at a later date.
