Steven Philip “Steve” Palmer, 56 of Pleasant Valley, NY and formerly of Carlisle, PA passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Well Span York Hospital.
He was born April 12, 1962 in Carlisle, PA the son of Elizabeth Torsell Palmer and the late George Palmer.
A 1980 graduate of Carlisle High School, he also graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, NY. Steve was a culinary artist, a visual artist, a poet (song writer) and a master musician, entertaining audiences with his acoustic guitar, and he was well-known as the co-founder of the folk and bluegrass band "Barebones and Wildflowers."
Steve is survived by his mother: Elizabeth Palmer of Ballston Spa, NY, his sisters: Kathy Westbrook and her husband, Joseph, of Ballston Spa, NY and Judy Palmer-Guest and her husband, Nathan Guest, of Newfane, Vermont, and his brother: Greg Palmer and his wife, Kris, of Harrisburg, PA. Also surviving are three nieces, Jan Lancto, Molly Kovalesky, and Teresa Palmer; three nephews, Christopher Palmer and Abijah and Sienna Palmer-Guest; a great-nephew, Logan Lancto; and an abundance of extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 1:30 PM at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA
A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until time of the service on Friday at the funeral home
