Stephen E. "Steve" Kreitzer, 64 of Carlisle, passed away with his loving family by his side on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at his home.
He was born January 13, 1960, in Mechanicsburg to the late Edgar and Anna (Kieffer) Kreitzer.
Steve was a graduate of Cumberland Valley High School. He was a car enthusiast and a gifted mechanic. Steve was a longtime employee of Penske Trucking where he worked as a diesel mechanic and a service coordinator. He spent a lot of his free time fishing and restoring antique and classic vehicles. Steve was a dedicated race fan, he watched NASCAR and attended many local dirt track races. His family will always remember him as a quiet, wise, free spirited, devoted, man of faith who always provided for his family.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Karen E. Kreitzer of Carlisle; four children, James (wife Geri) Silbaugh of Loysville, Christopher Silbaugh of Carlisle, Danelle (husband Mark) Johnson of Cleburne, TX, and Jeremy (wife Christina) Kreitzer of Carlisle; two siblings, Debra (husband Roger) Piper of Mechanicsburg and David Kreitzer (ex-wife Lois) of Newville; seven grandchildren, Joey, Jaime, Sebestian, Jacob, Anna, Johanna, and Jayce; and his canine companion, Copper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Cheri Keiter; and one sister-in-law, Colleen O'Connor.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Hoffman Funeral and Cremation LTD. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
