Stephen C. Thornhill, Sr.

Stephen C. Thornhill Sr., 73, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at UPMC West Shore Hospital.
He was born January 10, 1947 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Orval and Jean (Hess) Thornhill.
Stephen honorably served his country in the US Army. His service included two tours in Vietnam, each tour was ended when he was wounded. Stephen later worked at the New Cumberland Army Depot for over 25 years before his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and meeting friends to talk at local restaurants. Stephen was the longtime, former president of the Saturday night bowling league at Trindle Bowl.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Donna Thornhill of Mechanicsburg; one daughter, Holly (husband James) Daily of Mechanicsburg; two sons, Stephen C. (wife Christie) Thornhill Jr. of Blandon, PA and Christopher W. (wife Christina) Thornhill of Salisbury, MD; seven grandchildren, Chelsea Thornhill, Madison Strauser, Jalyne Daily, Skyler Thornhill, Tristen Williams, Krista Thornhill, and Miranda Thornhill; seven great-grandchildren, Tyson Haynes, Demetrius Price, Alex Wade, Riley Wade, Chandler Thornhill, Savannah Strauser, and Sadie Strauser; two nieces, Diane Thornhill Gallagher and Jennifer Navarro; and his best friend, Russ Erby. In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Thornhill.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Tri-County Memorial Gardens, Lewisberry.
