Stacie Lynn Hillison

Stacie Lynn Pitman Hillison, 50, of Carlisle, died at her home after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Born July 9, 1962 in Springfield, IL, she was the daughter of Dwight E. Pitman of Springfield, IL, and the late Mary Lou Pitman.
Surviving her are her husband of 28 years, Colonel Joel R. Hillison, Ph.D., of Carlisle, her son, Nathan Hillison and her two daughters, Dena Hillison and Claire Hillison, all of Carlisle, PA. Stacie is also survived by two brothers, Dwight W. Pitman, of Chino Hills, CA, and Kent Pitman, of Eden Prairie, MN, and three sisters, Fran Williams, of Sherman, IL, Monica Bucek, of Elgin, IL, and Marsha Stout of Sherman, IL.
Stacie was a caring and intelligent woman who held many positions during her lifetime including Religious Education Coordinator in Chievres, Belgium; Special Events Coordinator for Metroplex Hospital, Killeen, Texas (receiving an individual Addy Award); and Chief of Marketing in Bamberg, Germany to name just a few. She was also heavily involved in the community, volunteering for the Carlisle Barracks Spouses Club, Vacation Bible School, and as Cookie Mom for the Girls Scouts. Stacie was also a wonderful and loving mother and wife having supported her family over 28 years as a military spouse, making a loving home in over 11 different locations worldwide.
Stacie earned a Masters Degree in Communication from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing from Illinois State University, and was a graduate of Auburn High School, Illinois.
Stacie loved life and had a deep faith. She faced her cancer with a determination to live life as fully as possible. Stacie decided to “count it all joyâ€Â and look for the hidden blessings in the many expressions of love from our family, friends and neighbors.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Mary Queen of Peace Chapel, Carlisle Barracks with CH (Col) Gregory J. D’Emma as celebrant. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle.
