Simon B. Jackson

February 20, 1963 — March 6, 2019

Sergeant Simon B. Jackson, Carlisle Police Department, 56, of Carlisle, PA, formerly Washington, D.C., died Wednesday, March 6, 2019 after a valiant battle with cancer.
Born February 20, 1963, Simon B. Jackson, son of Robert D. Jackson and Marie-Alice (Brissette) Jackson, is survived by his parents, his fiancée Amy J. Nye, his brother, Douglas P. Jackson and niece Charlotte M. Jackson, his sister Dorothea G. Stubbs and husband T. Christopher Stubbs and nephews Jackson C. Stubbs and Benjamin T. Stubbs.
Simon B. Jackson attended the French International School before transferring to St. Albans as a treble soloist with the National Cathedral and later an Assistant Verger while coaching Lacrosse for the St. Albans varsity team in Washington D.C. He graduated from American University with a degree in Criminal Justice after which he moved to Pennsylvania. Working towards his lifelong dream of being a law enforcement officer, Simon Jackson began his career as a Detective in the Cumberland County District Attorney Office’s Criminal Investigative Division before transferring to the Carlisle Police Department where he worked, achieving the rank of Sergeant.
Simon’s passions in life included serving, protecting, mentoring those whose paths he crossed. He spoke French, loved music from classical to jazz, read constantly, and had a passion for military history and strategy. At his happiest, he was quietly and humbly helping people better their lives, teaching children and teenagers the importance of dreams and the good life, and providing loving support to multitudes of people who desperately needed a kind hand to travel through tough times. His humor was legendary and often diffused difficult and tense situations. His wishes were always for others, and never for himself. He adored his family, his fiancée, and his brothers and sisters in blue. He will be sorely missed by a great many people up and down the East Coast.
Simon’s life will be celebrated at the Carlisle Free Evangelical Church, 290 Petersburg Rd., Carlisle PA, with full Police honors, on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 11 am. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, Simon’s family requests that donations be sent to Carlisle Borough Police Association, P.O. Box 634, Carlisle, PA, 17013.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoffman Funeral home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle, PA.
