Shirley M. Hartzell

Shirley M. Hartzell, 76 of Carlisle, died Saturday April 9, 2011 in the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.
Born March 27, 1935 in Mt. Holly Springs, the daughter of the late Ira and Elva Bitner Cohill and the widow of Dale S. Hartzell to whom she was married to for 56 years.
Shirley worked at the former Food Fair, Carlisle in the meat department then spent 15 years traveling to local grocery stores showing food demonstrations. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Carlisle. Shirley and her husband enjoyed the social scene, friends and dancing. She played cards frequently, was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by a son, Rodney Hartzell and his wife Stacey, Carlisle, a niece, Marion K. Mattesky, two granddaughters, Jessica and Jennifer Hartzell, a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn and a sister, Mary Black, Carlisle. She was preceded in death by a nephew, Dennis Stewart
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday April 13, 2011 at 7 pm in the Hoffman Roth Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 219 North Hanover Street Carlisle, PA 17013 with Rev. Timothy D. Wheeler officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 pm until the time of the service Wednesday. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
