Sherwood V. Sheaffer, Jr.

Sherwood V. Sheaffer Jr. age 83 of Shermans Dale, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Hershey Medical Center.
He was born March 26, 1935 in Carroll Township, Perry County the son of the late Sherwood V. Sheaffer Sr. and Martha Kathleen (Shelley) Sheaffer. He married Lydia M. Smith. She preceded him in death.
He was the co-owner of the Universal Construction Company. Sherwood was a member of the Shermans Dale United Methodist Church, past president of the Youngs United Methodist Church Cemetery, member of the Shermans Dale Fire Company and the Loyal Order of Moose, Millerstown, and was a former Carroll Township Supervisor.
Sherwood is survived by his daughter: Brucetta Shatto and her husband Paul of Shermans Dale, his son: Kevin Sheaffer and his wife Lori of Camp Hill, two sisters: Nina Vogelsong and her husband Bob, and Kathleen Sheaffer all of Shermans Dale, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the Shermans Dale United Methodist Church, 50 Windy Hill Road, Shermans Dale, PA 17090, with Rev. Travis Allshouse, officiating.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle. A viewing will also be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 on Thursday at the church.
Burial will be in the Shermans Dale Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shermans Dale United Methodist Church, or to the Shermans Dale Fire Company, 5450 Spring Road, Shermans Dale, PA 17090.
