Sharon B. Placek

Sharon B. Placek, age 71, of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Arden Courts of Susquehanna, Harrisburg.
She was born March 14, 1945 in Old Forge, PA to the late Samuel and Jennie Struzzieri Barbett.
Sharon retired as an elementary school teacher in Delhi, New York after 35 years of service. She was a beloved and respected teacher and will be missed by many. She was an avid reader and passionate sports fan. Sharon will be remembered as a kind and loyal friend, a devoted sister and a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Rachel (and husband Todd) Weyant of Carlisle; two sisters, Carol Barbett and her companion, Gerald Williams of Philadelphia and Cynthia Barbett of Scranton, PA; a brother, Samuel (and wife Laquetta) Barbett of Severn, MD; a granddaughter, Sofia M. Weyant; two nieces, LeNiece (and husband Chiedu) Ozuzo of Baltimore, MD and Jennifer Barbett of Charlotte, NC; and a grand-nephew Ikenna Ozuzo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at St. Patrick Shrine Church, 140 E. Pomfret St., Carlisle, PA with Rev. Olusola H. Adewole, O.P. officiating. Burial will be at Westminster Memorial Gardens. There will be viewing from 8:30 a.m.-10:15 a.m. on Saturday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA.
