Scott S. Browne, 60, of Boiling Springs, died Monday, November 14, 2011 at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia.
Born March 30, 1951 in Lamar, Mo., he was a son of the late Robert and Leatha Brannan Browne.
He was a 1969 graduate of Lamar High School, attended Southwest Missouri State College and received a bachelor’s in business administration from Central Oklahoma State College. Scott’s 40-year career in the millwork industry started in high school at a lumber yard owned by Shiela and Paul Kidwell, his aunt and uncle. He was a sales representative for Jeld-Wen for 25 years, where he was employed at the time of his death. Scott was also a home builder in Oklahoma City for nearly a decade. He enjoyed playing golf all of his life.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Karla Browne of Boiling Springs; one son, Andrew Browne of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one daughter, Kelly Browne of Boiling Springs; one brother, Steve Browne (and wife, Mary Ellen) of Springfield, Mo.; two sisters, Kathie Browne and Julie Holland both of Monet, Mo.; one granddaughter, Lily Harper Grundon and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2011 at Rich Valley Golf Course, 227 Rich Valley Road, Mechanicsburg. Burial will be at a later date in Missouri.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
