Sara J. Hurley

Sara J. Hurley, 96, formerly of Landisburg, PA and residing at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the home.
She was born October 9, 1922 in Newville, PA the daughter of the late William Andrew Wagner and Florence Mary Burkholder Wagner. She married Russell Hurley and had celebrated 49 years of marriage upon his death April 19, 1997.
Sara had attended the Carlisle Baptist Church. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling with her husband. She liked crocheting, gardening and ceramics. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sara is survived by three sons: Eddie L. Hurley and his wife Virginia of Carlisle, Gregory A. Hurley and David A. Hurley both of Landisburg, PA, 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son: William R. Hurley, three brothers: Harold Wagner, Leo Wagner, Clair Wagner, and a sister, Nancy Kling.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Rev. Ed Roman, officiating. Viewing will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 and from 12:00 PM until time of the service at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Westminster Memorial Gardens.
