Sandra K. Grove

Sandra “Kay” Grove age 78 was called home to Heaven on Tuesday March 5, 2024, in Newville, PA surrounded by her loving family.  

Born in Carlisle, PA., she was the daughter Leroy and Edith (Stouffer) Mixell.

Kay attended Big Spring High School and was an avid Boyd’s Bear Collector. She also loved to camp, spend time with her family and going to yard sales.  

Kay is survived by her husband John H. Johnson, sons: Harold (Tracy) Cassell of Newville, PA., Martin Cassell of Newville, PA.,  Bradley (Brenda) Cassell of Newville, PA.,  Kevin (Tracey) Cassell of Carlisle, PA.,  Roger (Lona) Cassell of Enola, PA.,  and Joe Mika of Newville, PA.,  grandchildren: Derrek Cassell, Cory Cassell, Nicole Muholland, Zachariah Cassell, Christopher Cassell, Rebecca Cassell, Trisha Mowrey, Dustin Cassell, Tyler Cassell, Kanisha Cassell and Ryan Mika, twenty-three great grandchildren and a brother John (wife Pat) Mixell.  She was preceded by her parents, grandson Joshua Cassell, stepdaughter Tammy Bear and sisters Emilie Cassell and Linda Shingleton.   

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday March 11, 2024, at Hoffman Funeral and Cremation 2020 W Trindle Road Carlisle, PA., 17013 with Ralph Fisher officiating.  A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Burial will follow the service at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.
