Samuel Sangialosi, 79, of Gardners, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at his home.
Born November 11, 1932 in Otisville, he was a son of the late Samuel and Agnes McNally Sangialosi.
He retired as a Captain in the US Marine Corps after 20 years. He served during the Korea and Vietnam Wars. He was a life member of the VFW Post 6168, Shippensburg; a member of the American Legion Post 223, Shippensburg; Moose Lodge 761, Carlisle; Penn Township Volunteer Fire Co.; Cook Township Supervisor and Trustee; and a member of the South Fairview First Church of God. He loved to tinker with things especially his computer. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He loved his John Deere tractor.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Patricia Sangialosi of Gardners; four children, Samuel Sangialosi of Denver, CO, Susan Katko of Gray, TN, David Sangialosi of York and Lisa Strayer of York; three sisters, Patti Dodd of Ormond Beach, FL, Helen Davis of Ormond Beach, FL and Agnes O’Laughlin of CT; one step-brother, Tom Dunn of NY; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Tom Sangialosi and also his sisters, Frances Zawasky and Mary Seeley.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at South Fairview First Church of God, 1212 Centerville Road, Newville, PA 17241with Rev. Harry Madison officiating. Military Honors will be conducted immediately following the memorial service at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
