Samuel A. Klick, 85, of Gardners, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 in his home while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 18, 1933 in Harrisburg to the late Robert W. and Mamie (Mader) Klick.
Sam was a member of the NRA, Mt. Holly Fish and Game and Dillsburg Brethren in Christ Church. He was very fond of the Appalachian Trail and during his life he hiked over 1/3 of the trail with his daughter. Sam was a dog lover, he was especially fond of Brittany Spaniels. He worked for 36 years as an aviation mechanic at the New Cumberland Army Depot before his retirement.
Sam is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sylvia E. (Wert) Klick of Gardners; one daughter, Sharon (husband Preston) Brandt of Gardners; one sister, Peggy (husband John) Strickler of New Oxford; three grandchildren, Jacob, Sophia and Samantha Brandt; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Richard Klick and two sisters, Mary Nye and Ruth Ricker.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2020 West Trindle Road Carlisle, PA 17013.
