Ruth R. Barrick Heishman

Ruth R. Barrick Heishman, 88, of Shiremanstown, died Monday, January 24, 2011 at her home.
Born October 1, 1922 in Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late J. Russell and Ella E. Stover Barrick and the widow of Ervin L. Heishman.
She was a graduate of Carlisle High School. Ruth loved to travel whenever possible. She was an avid sports fan of the Hershey Bears, the Harrisburg Senators, and the City Islanders. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, rug hooking, doing puzzles, gardening and being outdoors. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving are two daughters, Frances L. Heishman of Shiremanstown and Joanne Henchbarger (and husband, Robert) of Centreville, VA, two sons, Paul Heishman (and wife, Kim Banister) of Boiling Springs and Carl Heishman (and wife Anna) of Bridgewater, NJ, and five grandchildren, Erin Henchbarger, Tyler Heishman, Emma Heishman, Zachary Heishman and Samuel Heishman. She was preceded in death by one son, Mervin Heishman and two brothers, James Barrick and Mac Barrick.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle with Pastor Barbara S. Lee officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
