Ruth Fetter Clay, 90, of Chapel Pointe at Carlisle died Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 28, 1921, in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Lottie Mae (Peck) Fetter.
She was a graduate of Carlisle High School, Class of 1938. She worked in the offices of the Bedford Shoe Company and G. R. Kinney Company. Mrs. Clay was a long-time member of Grace United Methodist Church, Carlisle.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Donald J. Clay of Carlisle; son-in-law, Charles K. Bassett of Carlisle; daughter-in-law, Carol Reilly Clay of Texas; two grandchildren, Christa L. Bassett Hess of Mechanicsburg and Chad Alan Bassett of Carlisle; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her children, Cynthia A. Clay Bassett in 1986 and Stephen D. Clay in 1989; and five brothers and six sisters.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16, at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
A visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
