Ruth Crownover

Ruth A. Eggleston, 69, of Carlisle, PA passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023.

She was born December 23, 1953 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island to the late Gordon and Anna (Munroe) Eggleston.

Ruth was a Master Sergeant and retired in 1996 after serving her Country for 20 years in the United States Army.  Ruth was also a Gulf War Veteran.

She is survived by: her loving husband of 35 years Thomas Crownover of Carlisle, PA; step-daughter Crystal (Joseph) Doyle  granddaughter Ashley; two brothers, G. Elliot (wife Jeanne) Eggleston of Birmingham, AL,  and Allan S. (Mary) Eggleston of Cove, OR.   She is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanne Feeney and a brother Robert Eggleston.

Ruth loved to travel. In addition to her travel the Army,  Ruth and Tom could often be seen traveling to many countries and states together in retirement.  They loved Princess Cruise Ships.  They took a total of 34 cruises  together totally 338 days.  Ruth’s favorite destinations were Greece and Australia.  

Ruth also loved sports.  Ruth was a huge fan of the  New York Giants and Boston Red Sox.   She was her also a huge field hockey fan.  She could often be seen in the stands cheering on Ashley and her teammates during their high school and club field hockey games. 

A private burial will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap.
