Ruth B. Lehman

Ruth (Brechbill) Lehman, 91, of Carlisle, died Sunday, February 5, 2012, in Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 30, 1920, in DeKalb County, IN, the daughter of the late Albert and Cora (Miller) Brechbill.
Mrs. Lehman is survived by her husband of 70 years, Earl M. Lehman; three sons: Fred Lehman and his wife, Carol, Gibsonville, NC; Donald Lehman and his wife, Cindy, Seattle, WA; and John Lehman, Carlisle; and a daughter, JoAnne Lehman, and her companion, Martha Kauppi, Madison, WI.
Her grandchildren are Beth Lehman, Gibsonville, NC; Jonathan Lehman, Cohasset, MA; Jeremy, Jessica, and Jeffrey Lehman, all of Seattle, WA; Kimberly Lehman Benz Duncan, Novato, CA; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald.
Ruth was an avid and accomplished needleworker who crafted many quilts and other items for her family. She was a homemaker, a gardener, a bookkeeper/accountant, and an administrative assistant, in addition to being actively involved in church work with her husband, Earl.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2012 at Grace Baptist Church, 777 West North Street, Carlisle with Rev. David Campbell officiating. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
