Russell E. Clark

August 22, 1934 — January 20, 2013

Russell E. Clark, 78, of Carlisle and formerly of Mt. Holly Springs, died Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Thornwald Home, Carlisle while surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 22, 1934 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Russell and Ruth Kinard Clark and the widower of Rochelle Brehm Clark.
He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Tampa University in Physics and his Master’s Degree from Penn State University in Engineering Science. Russell worked at HACC for 31 years as a professor. He was a member of First United Church of Christ; Masonic Lodge; Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1299; and Elks BPO Lodge 578, all of Carlisle. In his free time he loved to square dance, travel, golf, and bowl on his church league. Russell will be sadly missed by his friends and family.
Surviving are five children: Denise Thompson (and husband, Glenn) of Carlisle, Jackie Cox (and husband, Shane) of Mechanicsburg, Sherwood Clark of Harrisburg, Russell E. Clark Jr. of Pleasantville, NJ, and Gregory Clark (and wife, Joan) of Woodbine, NJ; one sister, Nancy Lipert of Colorado; four grandchildren: Caitlyn Green, Zack Cox, Russell E. Clark III, and Jeremiah Thompson; and one great-grandson, Aiden Porter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at First United Church of Christ, 30 North Pitt Street, Carlisle with Rev. Lynn R. Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the church.
Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 219 North Hanover Street, Carlisle is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
